Uphill Village
Uphill Village is set just south of Weston-super-Mare between the A370 and the sea.
It has an ancient history and was a Roman port and has been an important harbour in its time. It now has an attractive marina which is very busy at weekends and especially in the summer
The village has an attractive beach - although not for swimming - and is an extension of the main pleasure beach of Weston
Although close to Weston with all the facilities of a modern sea-side town, Uphill has its own Society which runs many community events. It also manages an excellent village Hall which is fully used and also has an first class "Uphill's Views" village magazine.

St Nicholas is an active Parish Church(with the ruins of the old St Nicholas church on the top of the cliff which is on the site of a Special Nature Reserve)
There is also a very full and active Primary School with an excellent Academy School right on the fringe of the village (Broadoak)
The village also has the Weston General Hospital within its boundary as well as the Weston Hospice Care buildings. There is also a school for children with learning difficulties (Westhaven) at the heart of the village
There is just the one village shop, which serves the village well, but with the bus service and the shopping facilities in Weston, most people shop outside the village.
